We received our SIAMS Inspection report this week and would like to share some highlights here:
Notable Strengths:
- The quality and range of provision to meet pupils’ diverse needs has risen significantly. It transforms attitudes, enhances self-belief and dignity, raising aspirations.
- Ongoing improvements in religious education (RE) enable pupils to explore questions in greater depth. The drive and enthusiasm of the leaders stand out, introducing new approaches that extend pupils’ thinking.
- Leaders, at all levels, bring knowledge, energy and enthusiasm to their role, leading by example. The St. Christopher’s Mul-Academy Trust (MAT) provides influential support, enhancing the impact this Church school makes for adults and pupils.
- The Christian vision shapes the school’s inclusion for pupils and their families, so they are valued. Support for families going through difficult times makes a substantial difference, giving hope.
- Improvements in collective worship raise the impact it has for pupils and adults. It deepens understanding of the importance of Chris an values and how these shape trusting relationships. So, they treat one another with dignity and respect.
The Christian vision drives the importance of being part of a caring community, where leaders see everyone as being unique. This stands out in the school’s inclusive, welcoming and dignifying culture. Staff ensure pupils feel valued and special. The quality of behaviour is rising because of new initiatives.
Jesus’ example inspires leaders to make a difference for those who face challenges. Leaders link this to the parable of the Good Samaritan and caring for everyone. This care is seen in the way that pupils are nurtured to recognise and share their feelings. Together with adults they agree personalised strategies that help them to manage their emotions, so they are ready for learning. Dedicated support spaces nurture pupils effectively, addressing specific needs. This changes attitudes, enhances dignity and transforms expectations. The trust relationships staff build with families is influential. The Christian vision is lived out in this care.
