Ofsted September 2026 - Early Years Strong

St Matthew’s Early Years recognised as ‘Strong’ by Ofsted

We are delighted to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place in September 2026. We are particularly proud that our Early Years provision was judged to be at the Strong standard. 

The report is a wonderful reflection of the start our youngest children receive at St Matthew’s. Inspectors said:

"Children are happy and flourish in this setting. They are extremely well prepared for their next steps."

They also recognised that our children “get off to a flying start, right from their time in ‘Mini Matts’” and praised the way our ambitious curriculum is adapted to meet the needs and interests of each group of children. 

For families considering a Reception place at St Matthew’s, we hope the report gives a real sense of what we want for every child who joins us: to be known well, to feel happy and secure, and to develop strong foundations for the years ahead.
